Ed Schultz provides soundtrack for lousy jobs report; Ace mocks [video]

http://twitter.com/#!/AceofSpadesHQ/status/376093228572749825

If Schultz were intellectually honest his theme song for the August jobs report would have been “Take This Job and Shove It”:

http://twitter.com/#!/marykissel/status/376051874312359936

Earlier today some wondered where the “BOOM crowd” had gone. The “BOOM crowd” are the people who usually comes out and trumpet the “positives” after the release of monthly jobs reports, no matter how stagnant.

The August jobs report was particularly gloomy, but that didn’t stop MSNBC’s Ed Schultz from becoming a one-man “BOOM crowd” by not only accusing Fox News of mis-reporting about the economy, but playing “Taking Care of Business” while doing so to prove that, yes, the Obama administration is taking care of business. See what Ed did there?

Try and watch this clip without laughing:

Now that guy is funny!

There you have it: The reason the labor force participation rate has hit a 35-year low is because Fox News doesn’t say the participation rate has never been better, or something.

A Woman Riding A Motorcycle Is A Litterbug Vigilante. She Won"t Let You Do It.

We’d all love if there were less trash on our streets, but are we doing anything about it? Aside from throwing out our garbage when it’s convenient for us, that is…

The answer is: probably not. But this anonymous vigilante took the law (and trash) into her own hands and returned it to the litterbugs who treat our roads like their personal, sprawling garbage cans. If you’re surprised by this woman’s actions, just wait until you see the looks on the faces of the people whose trash she returns via motorcycle. (Yeah, motorcycle.) Take a look at this environmentalist biker in action!

The vigilante spotted the litterbug. They had no idea what was coming to them.

Well, now they know.

In your face!

You just made a big mistake.

I’ll bet they won’t do that again.

For more of the Mother Earth-loving motorcyclist in action, check out the video below.

Way to go, anonymous vigilante environmentalist biker! If you’re going to use the world as a trash can, be prepared to get treated like human garbage.

Ever since Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman went off during a post-game with Erin Andrews of Fox Sports, many those who have seen the interview have been reminded of “Clubber” Lang, the character Mr. T played in the movie Rocky III:

Woman calls Obama treasonous, Romney doesn’t denounce her; Left throws a hissyfit

http://twitter.com/#!/HenryJGomez/status/199562896211066883

At an Ohio town hall event this afternoon, all hell broke loose! At least according to liberals:

After a woman told Romney she believed President Obama “should be tried for treason,” the candidate failed to condemn or even address the remark in his response. (He expressed disagreement later at the rope line, when reporters asked him about it.)

See for yourself!

Mitt Romney is so afraid if his base, he won"t even say, "No, the president shouldn"t be tried for treason. That"s why we have elections."

— Shawna Shepherd (@ShepherdCNN) May 7, 2012

Don"t know if it"s worse that Romney failed to correct someone accusing Obama of treason… or him LAUGHING at the idea that he should"ve.

— Julian Darius (@JulianDarius) May 7, 2012

@BuzzFeedAndrew If Pres. Obama had heard it, he wld have addressed it. Not the same as treason woman & Romney"s cowardice. False equivalency

— Nerdy Wonka (@NerdyWonka) May 7, 2012

Can you believe it? Can you??? A member of Romney’s audience suggested Obama is guilty of treason, and Romney didn’t condemn her on the spot? But when someone heckled Romney during a speech last week, calling him a “f*cking racist,” Obama immediately denounced the heckler and stuck up for his opponent. Oh, wait … *crickets chirping*

Yeah, see, that’s the thing: Barack Obama, to whom Mitt Romney has referred as a “nice guy,” certainly hasn’t swooped in to save Romney’s reputation. Obama’s minions, a group that includes the mainstream media, haven’t stepped up to the plate, either.

And conservatives weren’t about to let that slide. Conservative Twitter supastah Jon G. let the lefties have it. And he let ‘em have it good:

::gasp:: RT @BuzzFeedAndrew Romney silent as woman says Obama should be tried for treason. http://t.co/MkikS7Fk

O RLY? RT @markos Thanks to the woman who asked Romney the "treason" question, for showing Romney"s cowardice in the face of his crazy base.

Joe Scarborough won’t apologize to ‘Cheetos brigade"; blames Politico

http://twitter.com/#!/alwaysonoffense/status/252737190004682752

Shockah! “Real journalist” Joe Scarborough is still sneering at bloggers who handily exposed his dishonest Mitt Romney smear.

On Friday, Scarborough promised that today he would address the “fake controversy” over the Romney/Ryan chant video he aired last week. And he did … by refusing to own his deceptive presentation of the video and slamming critics as the conspiracy-mongering “Cheetos brigade” in “mom’s basement.”

Memo to @NolteNC: re: "Romney/Ryan" chant…according to @joenbc you are a Cheetos eating, basement dwelling conpiracy nut. #MSNBC2012

— Noah Wehrman (@NoahWehrman) October 1, 2012

@JoeNBC calling those who jumped on him abt Romney/Ryan chant the Cheetos Birgade !! #journalist

— Daniel D Wenzel (@DirtyDan64) October 1, 2012

But instead of admitting fault, he now mocks those that figured out he was wrong. He"s a piece of work.

— Christine (@cmdeb) October 1, 2012

so instead of admitting a mistake or oversight or sloppiness, @joenbc says we live in our parent"s basement? cop out…

— Ryan (@alwaysonoffense) October 1, 2012

Even though Joe feels he owes no apology for falsely claiming Romney told a crowd chanting Paul Ryan’s name to add his name to the mix, it was totally Politico’s fault that he did that.

so @joenbc"s excuse/defense was that he followed whatever politico said about the romney/ryan clip? oh good…

— Ryan (@alwaysonoffense) October 1, 2012

@cmdeb my favorite part was how he cited politico as being the reason he & his staff ran w/ it the way they did. yep, sloppy…

— Ryan (@alwaysonoffense) October 1, 2012

C’mon, Joe, you’re losing your touch. Surely you could’ve blamed Booooossssh!

On Friday, Scarborough tweeted:

Expect to hear the tape again on Monday.

— Joe Scarborough (@JoeNBC) September 28, 2012

Technically he wasn’t lying. The audience heard the same tape this morning. But any guesses as to whether they saw the same video?

@joenbc LIES AGAIN!!!! To show he didn"t doctor video he "replayed" it today w/ "Ryan" closed caption MISSING!!! @noltenc @NoelSheppard

— Noah Wehrman (@NoahWehrman) October 1, 2012

@JoeNBC that’s not the video you aired Wednesday! Where was the “Ryan” tag at the bottom half of the screen?

— Jeff Gore (@politisized) October 1, 2012

The Blaze confirms, “Scarborough then played the clip his show aired last week, this time without the subtitles.” You know, the subtitles falsely indicating the crowd was chanting “Ryan!” when it actually chanted “Romney!”

Laughably, the “Morning Joe” comedy crew also defended the program’s staff, claiming that NBC lapdogs don’t doctor tapes.

@morning_joe “They are working through the night — they are drunk— but not doctoring tapes.” @morningmika @JoeNBC

— Lori Isom (@lisom) October 1, 2012

Reminder:

MSNBC"s #morningjoe – "We don"t doctor tape" (Despite MSNBC"s long history of………doctoring tape) LOL

— VikingsFan (@JeffGill24) October 1, 2012

@joenbc your mothership @nbc has doctored multiple tapes this summer!

— FloridaJayhawk (@HouseCracka) October 1, 2012

@Morning_Joe Has NBC ever doctored a tape before. Oh wait…yes.

— Richard Iarossi (@riarossi) October 1, 2012

@JoeNBC NBC staffers have doctored an audio tape before aka Tryvon Case, gives reason to Believe they would do it again after all Joe!

— RickyRay (@RickyRayinGA) October 1, 2012

But don’t worry about losing the Cheetos brigade’s viewership, Joe. Someone’s gotta keep an eye on your absurd spin and ridiculous lies when you and your panel pick up the lapdog pom-poms. If nothing else, we can giggle-snort at your show’s pathetic excuse for “real journalism.”

@Morning_Joe @Joe boycotting the program is a good idea, but what would us 47% Cheetos eating basement dwellers do for entertainment.

Inspired by Clint Eastwood’s unforgettable RNC skit, Twitter users are organizing a nationwide Empty Chair Day on Monday to pay tribute to the Absentee-In-Chief:

None dare question the god king!

http://twitter.com/#!/TheFix/status/255060719005995008

There’s nothing liberals value more than freedom of speech, right? We all remember that there’s almost nothing the Left is prouder to claim than “I may not agree with what you say, but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it,” right? Surely the Left would have to treat with respect an analyst who offered such a mild criticism:

Here’s the reality: Obama is the single most talented big-speech giver (the convention speech notwithstanding) and fundraiser currently operating in politics — and it’s not close. But, like all candidates, he has weaknesses, too. And that makes his I-am-not-a-perfect-president line from last week’s debate more true than most people — maybe up to and including Obama himself — realize.

Is this even a criticism? Can’t every reasonable person — liberal or conservative —  agree that, like all candidates, President Obama has weaknesses?

If you guessed “no,” you guessed right:

@TheFix Is Chris Cilizza a tiresome beltway hack? In every way yes.

— Mr. NFTG (@Kennymack1971) October 7, 2012

@thefix Dude you have some balls to write about someone being overrated. If it wasn"t for #msnbc 20 sec a day they give u who would know you

— Noble (@howzer23) October 7, 2012

Is @TheFix an overrated, wannabe newsman who repeats verbatim other people"s words, In some ways, some people are saying Yes.

— KSK(africa) (@lawalazu) October 7, 2012

As if these criticisms weren’t enough, Cillizza was criticized for having the temerity to even speak:

After massive obstruction with multiple accomplishments @TheFix Cilliza asks if PBO is overrated. The gall of these privileged guys. #FAIL

— KSK(africa) (@lawalazu) October 7, 2012

If you were expecting any of the president’s defenders to offer any specifics as to why and how Cillizza went so wrong, you’d wind up disappointed:

@KRBCanada1 @thefix Pure drivel.

— LiberalPhenom (@LiberalPhenom) October 7, 2012

And some on the Left weren’t content just to attack Cillizza for criticizing our Dear Leader, they had to demonstrate just how out of touch they are, too:

@TheFix We are electing a President and not a politician. So the media may award Mitt for style, but the people will pick Obama for substance

— utliberal (@utliberal) October 7, 2012

Barack Obama is known for substance, not style? You know you didn’t just mutter that to yourself, @utliberal? You put that out on the Internet! Be more careful next time.

A few people stepped up to tell him he had it right — and to point out that even Barack Obama once owned up to not being perfect:

@TheFix Look Obama admitted to B Walkers – he is lazy – it shows – he much rather someone do the work and he go play golf -plain and simple.

— BMoran (@BMoran4) October 7, 2012

That would be a reference to Obama’s 2011 interview with Barbara Walters, in which he himself admitted “there’s a laziness in me.

Don’t tell his fans he said it of course; they think he’s perfect.

Ladies’ man Joe Biden smooches Barbara Walters on ‘The View,’ talks possible POTUS run [video]

http://twitter.com/#!/ImReporterCJ/status/438352487922143234

As Twitchy reported, Vice President Biden appeared on today’s edition of “The View,” where he attempted to explain how Obamacare-induced unemployment “gives women a great deal more freedom.” But that wasn’t the only thing he said that made us cringe. He also discussed a potential presidential bid:

http://twitter.com/#!/Alyssafarah/status/438351399794266112

Just think: After suffering through two Obama terms, we could have four to eight more years of this:

http://twitter.com/#!/ethanklapper/status/438353492416405504

Blech.

Partial transcript:

Walters: I do not expect you to come on this program and announce that you’re going to run for president. I won’t object if you want to — do you want to?

Biden: I’ll tell you what, I’ll make you a deal: If you stick around, I will announce my decision with you.

Walters: I’m not sure that’s a deal I can accept, but it’s very flattering. So, let me try coming in backwards: If Hillary does not run, will you — you have said that if she runs for president, you will not run —

Biden: No, I haven’t.

Walters: Then tell me what you said.

Biden: The only reason to run for president of the United States is if you truly believe you’re in a better position to do what you think is most needed in the country. I think my knowledge of foreign policy, my engagement with world leaders, my experience is — uniquely positions me to follow through on the agenda Barack and I have of bringing up world peace in a way that is real and substantive. I also think the middle class is the single focus of what we should be looking at, and how to grow it. And so whether she runs or not will not affect my decision.

Walters: You haven’t said no.

Biden: No, I absolutely have not said no. It’s as likely I run as I don’t run. I just truly haven’t made up my mind. The good news is, everything I think I would have to do to be a viable candidate is the same exact thing I should be doing to be the best vice president I can possibly be.

Walters: Well, I don’t think there’s much doubt that you’re a superb vice president.

OK, let’s stop right there. Entertaining? Yes. “Superb”? Not even close.

Nevertheless, there are still deluded people out there who’d love to see a President Uncle Joe:

Rep. Raúl Grijalva borrows lab coat, makes ‘best pro-Keystone video ever’

http://twitter.com/#!/jhaverly/status/340559876394737665

We’re used to hearing that Republicans are the anti-science party, but that criticism is especially hard to take in light of Rep. Raúl Grijalva’s new video, warning of the dangers of building the Keystone XL pipeline. We’ve also been assured that conservatives don’t understand the nuances of metaphor, but there’s just something about Grijalva playing politics while wearing a “borrowed lab coat” and pretending to be a scientist that makes you miss Al Gore’s relatively sophisticated hucksterism.

The video’s so bad, in fact, that the National Republican Congressional Committee is urging people to view it, calling it a “must watch.” Spoiler: the rocks sink.

Camera catches tornado destruction of high school

http://twitter.com/#!/NBC2/status/181917835843469314

From NBC2:

Cameras inside a school have allowed us to get an inside look at the power of an EF 4 tornado that destroyed towns from Pekin, Illinois to Henryville to Marysville, Indiana earlier this month.

Surveillance cameras inside Henryville Junior Senior High School were rolling as the storm destroyed their building.

Everything looked fine from outside Henryville Junior Senior High School just after school let out at 3 p.m. on Friday March 2, but as the buses pull back in and teachers come running out of the building to get the kids inside you start to understand that something dangerous is not far away.

In the background Henryville Auto Sales is still standing and that cafe where the bus ended up is still in one piece.

Just about four minutes after the last students got into the building the tornado hits and the cameras go black.

“The amount of energy and destruction that took place in such a short amount of time really boggles the mind,” Assistant Superintendent Dr. John Reed said as he watched the video.

From the south end of the building near the playground the camera stays on as the tornado rips off the roof in the pieces.

It all happens in no more than 20 seconds.

About 80 staff and students were in the building at the time.

Mom jeans on fire: Obama suggests he was outspent in 2008

http://twitter.com/#!/KenDiesel/status/221610914862993409

At a campaign event in Pittsburgh yesterday, President Obama suggested he was outspent by opponent John McCain in 2008. Seriously. He said that.

— Ian Essling (@ianessling) July 7, 2012

Via The Right Sphere:

I don’t know if he thinks everyone is dumb or if he’s just trying to get votes by making people to feel sorry for him, but he’s lying. He was not outspent in 2008. Not even close.

“Idiot or liar”? Why choose? Embrace “and.”

“Outspent” seems to be a recurring theme in the Obama campaign.

And that campaign stop in Pittsburgh wasn’t the only time this week Obama played fast and loose with the 2008 numbers. He also tried the “outspent” line in Ohio.

Anthony Weiner says there may be more selfies out there [video]

http://twitter.com/#!/bjmartino/status/327133798594662401

Will the Weiner Well ever run dry? Not as long as news like this comes out:

This guy loves to take pictures of his shlong and that’s all there is to it. nymag.com/daily/intellig…

— John Podhoretz (@jpodhoretz) April 24, 2013

The mayoral hopeful delivered, as he’s taken to doing lately, admitting that he sent sexy messages for “a couple of years” and that we may not have seen the last of them. “If reporters want to go try to find more, I can’t say that they’re not going to be able to find another picture, or find another person who may want to come out on their own,” Weiner told RNN’s Dominic Carter.

So, basically, there could be loads more photos.

Anthony Weiner wouldn’t have said there could be more pictures if there weren’t more pictures.

— Eric(@eriContrarian) April 24, 2013

So Anthony Weiner sent out so many dick pics of himself he can’t keep track of them all? Ick.

— Kelley (@Budini) April 24, 2013

But Weiner’s prepared to face it all head-on. As he told a reporter earlier today, he wants “to not be in such a defensive crouch anymore.”

Sean Penn wants Ted Cruz, Tea Partyers forcibly committed [video]

Classic Penn, anyway. We can always count on him to bring the crazy.

Sean sat down last night with the illustrious Piers Morgan to discuss The Issues. Naturally, that pesky Tea Party came up:

Transcript:

Penn: Let’s go to the Tea Party influence on Congress and that stuff. I think there’s a mental health problem in Congress. This would be solved by committing them by executive order, I think, because these are our American brothers and sisters. We shouldn’t be criticizing them, attacking them … this is a cry for help.

Musket: We literally commit people like Ted Cruz?

Penn: He’s, he’s my American brother. We should take care of him. He’s in trouble.

Musket: Actually have him committed?

Penn: Yeah, I think it’s a good idea.

Of course he thinks it’s a good idea! Who better to pronounce people insane than Sean Penn, professional insane person?

Floodwaters swept through Manitou Springs, Colo., last night, reportedly killing at least one person, and injuring at least three. Police have blocked several major roads, leaving many El Paso County residents, including Twitchy CEO Michelle Malkin, unable to travel to their homes.

The floods were caused by heavy rains yesterday evening coupled with damage to soil from last summer’s wildfire in Waldo Canyon.

Local news outlets and journalists posted incredible photos and videos of the devastation.

Marc Lamont Hill: ‘Happy birthday to my Brother Mumia Abu-Jamal’

http://twitter.com/#!/marclamonthill/status/327122388380680192

Last week, Marc Lamont Hill received “tepid applause” from conservatives for his honesty when he admitted that the Left didn’t cover the Gosnell trial because “we worry that it’ll compromise abortion rights.”

Reminder: He’s also completely honest about his slobbering, starry-eyed worship of convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal.

Not surprising given that Hill coauthored a book with his “unjustly incarcerated” pal. And who can forget how “exciting” he found the Christopher Dorner saga? It was “like watching ‘Django Unchained’ in real life,” he said.

Mumia stands as one of the most important voices of his generation, one of the leading intellectuals, and reminder that unfreedom lingers.

— Marc Lamont Hill (@marclamonthill) April 24, 2013

I stand with Mumia and fight for his freedom because I believe in his innocence. I have no doubt that he is a political prisoner.

— Marc Lamont Hill (@marclamonthill) April 24, 2013

Mumia represents a cadre of prison intellectuals, who have articulate dangerous ideas from the dungeons of American prisons. @mumiaabujamal

— Marc Lamont Hill (@marclamonthill) April 24, 2013

How else did Hill plan to celebrate the birthday of this “prison intellectual”? Who better to ask than @MumiaAbuJamal?

Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner won’t be celebrating a birthday this year and hasn’t since Abu-Jamal brutally murdered him in 1981.

The Bitter Cold Isn"t So Bad When You Do What This Awesome Family Did. Brilliant Idea!

The United States is getting hit with another gust of arctic air and families are finding ways to cope with even more winter weather. The snowfall isn’t stopping and temperates are once again below zero. That’s why this awesome family decided to take on a group project, inspired by another family’s creative thinking last year. Bitterly cold weather is so much better when you have something awesome to do in it.

The first step was buying lots and lots of aluminum pans from Restaurant Depot.

Then, making the different colored blocks.

So pretty!

They didn’t have to wait too long for the bricks to freeze in the sub-zero temperatures.

Frozen and ready for building.

Now, onto building the first row.

… and then figuring out how the second row would be added.

Building an igloo is probably harder than most people think.

Making good progress.

Even into the night!

Oooooh. Ahhhhhh.

Fantastic family craftsmanship.

We bet the neighbors were jealous of this swanky ice palace.

From the inside, looking out.

Nearly done…

And tah-dah!

I admire what they did, but you couldn’t pay me to go outside and build a house of ice in -15 degree weather. So kudos to them! To see them in action, watch the video below:

Hope and (can’t) change! Obama: ‘Can’t change Washington from inside’

http://twitter.com/#!/rickklein/status/248860432880791553

No, for reals. We aren’t joking. He totally said that, as reported by ABC’s junior high poet and Obama cheerleader Rick Klein. The sad part? Rick probably thought it was genius and poetic. He, of course, translates. It must just be that stupid rubes can’t figure out the nuance-y nuance of the Smartest Man Alive.

Sane and grown-up citizens, however? Not so impressed. Um. What about that whole Hopeandchange ™ thing? Isn’t change what Obama, you know, campaigned on and promised? He’s admitting he lied and failed? Is he dropping out? If you can’t make change from inside Washington, he must not want to be re-elected. Whew! See ya, genius!

The president can’t do anything, evidently. That’s weird; we thought President Bush was responsible for everything wrong in the entire world, in perpetuity. What happened to that? Obama can’t do anything, but golf and canoodle and hawk things while four Americans lay dead.

Change has come to America.”

It Doesn"t Get Cooler Than This: Motorcycle Chariot Racing. It Was A Real Thing.

Most people would think that we discovered every high energy sport for adrenaline junkies by 2014.  Not quite. There is still one more sport 2014 needs that, until recently, was lost to the ages.

I am, of course, talking about motorcycle chariot racing.

Motorcycle chariot racing is exactly what it sounds like. A motorcycle (or two) are strapped to the front of a chariot and raced like the good old days of the Roman Empire.

The sport supposedly caught on during the 1920s and peaked around the mid-1930s.

It was, without a doubt, the coolest sport of the 1920s and 30s.

Some versions of the sport had riders on the motorcycles while the chariot rider “drove” them.

Sadly, there is not much information available about how the sport worked.

Some of motorcycle chariot riders were pretty daring.

Some people keep the old tradition of motorcycle chariot racing alive in the modern day. We only hope this most awesome sport makes a comeback.

Here is a visual demonstration of how a motorcycle chariot works.

Some people take them out on the open road. It’s pretty awesome.

Via: Visual News

If I knew this was an option, I would try to become a professional motorcycle chariot racer instead of a writer. Think of all those wasted years…
