‘Two and a Half Men’s’ Angus T. Jones professes his faith, is branded a hypocrite

http://twitter.com/#!/THEHermanCain/status/273470499827363841

“Predictable” charges of hypocrisy? Like this one?

So… Angus T. Jones is giving all the money back, right?

— Fred C. (@oddnoc) November 27, 2012

Cain certainly called it. Angus T. Jones surprised a lot of people, including the producers of the hit CBS TV show “Two and a Half Men,” by appearing in a YouTube video and asking viewers not to watch the comedy, calling it “filth.” What would inspire an actor to ask people not to watch the show in which he appears? In Jones’ case, it was God.

Jones shot the testimonial video with Pastor Christopher Hudson to discuss his becoming a Seventh-day Adventist, but it was his comments on “Two and Half Men” that made the video go viral. “It’s very weird that I’m on a television show, especially now that I am trying to walk with God,” Jones told Hudson. “My television show has nothing to do with God and doesn’t want anything to do with God.”

Jones is reported to have earned $350,000 per episode, but his “blatantly disrespectful comments” (as the New York Daily News characterized them) have many wondering if the actor will give away his “filthy” money now that he’s found religion. Former “Gilmore Girls” star Jared Padalecki was quick to tell Jones what to do with his earnings in order to prove his faith.

#AngusTJones -if you BELIEVE what you said, put ur money where ur mouth is and donate ur “filthy” millions to charity. Try @stjude

— Jared Padalecki (@jarpad) November 27, 2012

Susan Olsen, “Cindy” of the Brady Bunch, has offered to take Jones’ money off of his hands.

My suggestion for Angus T Jones: Yes indeed, T.V. is EVIL! I suggest you take all that wicked money you will be… fb.me/1Nnm0oLAL

— Susan(@SusanOlsen888) November 27, 2012

My suggestion for Angus T Jones: Yes indeed, T.V. is EVIL! I suggest you take all that wicked money you will be making from residuals and give it to a former child star who was in a POSITIVE show that never made residuals. I recomend ME as the perfect recipient!

How are other actors responding to Jones’ video?

“Two Men and an Ungrateful Fuck-toad”

— Zach Braff (@zachbraff) November 27, 2012

You do have to respect Angus T. Jones for promising to return ALL the money he’s ever earned on Two and a Half Men.

— Joshua Malina (@JoshMalina) November 27, 2012

There are certainly a lot of actors making more money than Jones (co-star Charlie Sheen was reported to have been paid $1.8 million per episode), but there’s an unwritten clause that makes money and God incompatible.

Hey Angus T. Jones, you made that money doing “filth” I assume you’re giving it all away, right? Find a nice charity. (landing.newsinc.com/shared/video.h…)

— Elena Milan (@MsElenaMilan) November 27, 2012

Angus T Jones is offended by “Two and a Half Men”He should quit.Only a hypocrite would take his stance and still collect 350k per show.

— BeGoodOrBeGoodAtIt (@DrewHampton66) November 27, 2012

Dear Angus, return the devil’s money then… don’t cash and preach. No sir. We aren’t having it.

— Tilly Ameera أميرة (@AmeeraBlitz) November 27, 2012

At least Angus T. Jones now has some training for his new-found religiosity: He’s a total hypocrite.

— FilmOnTrial (@FilmOnTrial) November 27, 2012

I assume Angus T Jones is returning the millions he’s made to @cbs. He can’t possibly live w/himself keeping all that immoral money, right?

— Steve C. (@AnalogWalrus) November 27, 2012

Angus T Jones, Two and a Half Men, talking the christian talk, but certainly not walking the walk. Greedy hypocrite.

— Bill Talley (@Political_Bill) November 27, 2012

Devout Christian Angus T. Jones spends 10 years getting rich off of 2 1/2 Men, now says it’s evil. Doesn’t return the money.

— Chris Doucette (@Chris_Doucette) November 27, 2012

I missed the part of the video where Angus T Jones offers to give all that 2 1/2 MEN filth-money away, cd someone pls link?

— James Poniewozik (@poniewozik) November 27, 2012

Angus T. Jones should donate ALL OF HIS MONEY if he’s going to make that stance. Stupid prick.

— Brad (@bradmiska) November 26, 2012

Angus T. Jones says his show is filth and people should stop watching it. He sure seems to likes the pay check. Typical religious hypocrite

— Joey Hillman (@JDK2000) November 27, 2012

entertainment.verizon.com/news/read.php?…Notice, though, that Angus and other religious wackos never, ever turn down those royalty checks?MAJOR hypocrite.

— Donna Di Giacomo (@Beatles0223) November 27, 2012

Hey, Angus T. Jones! If you feel so strongly, QUIT!! Or are you just one more born-again Hypocrite?? I think you are!! Two and a Half Men

— Tom Kidd (@FabulousThomasJ) November 27, 2012

Funny how after 9 seasons Angus T Jones now calls “Two and a half men” “Filth” but didn’t mind the 300G an episode pay check #hypocrite

— Peter Carlin (@PeteCarlin) November 27, 2012

This is why people have to call Christians hypocrites. Why didn’t Angus leave the show?

— Crystal (@MizzCandy09) November 27, 2012

Actually, Jones said that while he’d like to leave the show, he is under a contract that runs until the end of the season. His religious conversion has him thinking longer-term, however. As he says in his testimonial, “There’s no playing around when it comes to eternity.”

Update: Jones has apologized for his comments:

I have been the subject of much discussion, speculation and commentary over the past 24 hours.

While I cannot address everything that has been said or right every misstatement or misunderstanding, there is one thing I want to make clear. Without qualification, I am grateful to and have the highest regard and respect for all of the wonderful people on Two and Half Men with whom I have worked and over the past ten years who have become an extension of my family…

Shocking: Twitter reveals how Ted Cruz bullied Harry Reid

http://twitter.com/#!/PS_Williams/status/331949942518202368

Those public service announcements on bullying seem to be working. Victims of bullying are urged to tell an adult, so Sen. Harry Reid opened up on the Senate floor to confess that he’s the victim of a schoolyard bully named Ted Cruz. Majority Leader Reid didn’t let the shame of being pushed around by the “very junior senator from Texas” keep him from seeking help, but what was the problem, exactly? There have been some rumors going around the schoolyard about just #HowTedCruzBulliedHarryReid, and it’s not pretty.

5-Year-Old Girl Stuns Judges With Her Beautiful Rendition of You Raise Me Up.

“You Raise Me Up” is far from an easy song to sing. Most people need years of singing experience to do it justice. This is why everyone was amazed when 5-year-old Celine Tam stepped onto the stage and started singing like an angel.

The whole audience was on their feet and clapping along by the end of her performance. She clearly has a bright future ahead of her.

What a beautiful voice. To be able to give the song that emotion and intensity it requires at age 5 is nothing short of incredible.

Officer Joel Zwicky of the Green Bay Police Department is clearly the world’s coolest cop. While most police officers patrol their neighborhoods in squad cars, on bikes or even on horseback, Wisconsin cop Zwicky decided to take patrolling to a whole new awesome level. By mixing his love of skateboarding with his job, Joel became the local legend that is “Skateboard Cop”.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, officer Zwicky has been with the Green Bay Police Department in Wisconsin for 10 years, and when the 40-year-old pitched the idea of a skateboard patrol to his commander two years ago as a bit of a joke, he wasn’t really expecting his CO to agree that it was a great idea. The Unmanned Antares Rocket Exploded During Take-Off. Watch the Video.

An unmanned supply rocket bound for the International Space Station exploded in a giant fireball on Tuesday evening. The rocket went up in flames shortly after its launch from Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.

Hundreds of millions of dollars worth of equipment were aboard. The equipment ranged from “classified cryptographic” gear, to various testing devices and school science experiments. Technicians working for the private space transport services company, Orbital Sciences Corp, were forced to detonate a self-destruct mechanism six seconds after launch because of “catastrophic” equipment failure on the Antares rocket.

Below are videos of the incident.

#FreeCoryBooker: Live coverage of the Cory Booker hostage crisis

http://twitter.com/#!/jimgeraghty/status/204561698227617792

If you enjoyed a blissfully politics-free day Sunday, you missed Newark Mayor Cory Booker call Team Obama’s attacks on Bain Capital and private equity firms “crap.”  The rare moment of honesty from an Obama surrogate won points with many on the Right and attracted bile from the Left.

With the onslaught of hate and demands that he get back to toeing the line, Booker quickly recorded a YouTube video clarifying his statements.  RNC staffer Tim Miller called it a “hostage tape.”

Hostage tape MT @chrisdonovannbc: Booker posts video after saw "so much feedback" to his comments on #MTPhttp://t.co/iQKavldc

— Tim Miller (@Timodc) May 20, 2012

And it wasn’t enough for the Obama campaign whose editors sliced and diced nearly four minutes into a 30 second endorsement.

The Obama campaign heavily edits Cory Booker"s follow-up to this morning"s remarks: http://t.co/fiqfeB72

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

This morning, the “hostage tape” comparison was used again on “Morning Joe” and National Review‘s Jim Geraghty is running with that ever so apt description in a brilliant series of tweets using the hashtag #FreeCoryBooker.

At some point Sunday afternoon, armed agents of the Obama campaign raided and seized Cory Booker"s conscience.

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

One image says it all: The flag of the seal of Newark, being burned by angry crowd of Obama staffers outside Booker"s embassy gates.

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

"Capitalist, go home!" the angry mob of Obama staffers cried, before breaking through the gates and storming the doors of Booker"s embassy.

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

"Were any of the Obama staffers armed with firearms?" "No, no, that would alienate the gun control supporters among them."

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

"Ever since Shah Daley left the Obama camp, there has been fear that the radical young students had taken over the movement."

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

Analysts note that in his hostage tape, Booker blinks in Morse code, "MY CITY STILL NEEDS A THRIVING FINANCIAL SECTOR."

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

In violation of International law, young Obama campaign staffers blindfolded Booker"s conscience and paraded it in front of cameras.

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

A figure with ties to both the Obama camp and high finance, like Jon Corzine, may be permitted to visit Booker"s conscience in captivity.

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

Proper audio to play during recent Tweets: http://t.co/udr6IfhM

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

The angry mob of Obama staffers is now chanting, "DOWN WITH THE GREAT LIEBERMAN," an ancient figure associated with betrayal in their faith.

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

Oh, dear. Ominous for Booker"s conscience, as Ayatollah Axelrod has declared it guilty of "apostasy against our deity."

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

Those of us who hope for the safe release of Cory Booker"s conscience must stand by our principles: We will not negotiate with terrorists.

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

When Booker"s conscience called the Bain "crap" and "nauseating", he committed blasphemy under the strict orthodoxy of Obamism.

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

All across the country, candlelight vigils are beginning, with millions praying for the safe release of Cory Booker"s conscience.

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

More bad news: a commando mission to rescue Booker"s unjustly incarcerated conscience, OPERATION EAGLE KINSLEY"S LAW, has been scrubbed.

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

As with that other famous hostage crisis, we may need to elect a new president to see a happy ending. #FreeCoreyBooker

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

If the Obama campaign refuses to release hostages like Cory Booker"s conscience, we must retaliate by freezing their assets.

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

Negotiations for the release of Booker"s conscience are complicated by conflicting claims of just who is in charge of the Obamist movement.

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

At first, Obamists asked for ransom for the release of Booker"s conscience, but then it became clear all of their messages ask for money.

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

The Obamists offered a dinner meeting for a donation as little as $3, but refused to offer proof of life for Booker"s conscience.

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

Pentagon sources say they will not attempt a second mission to rescue Cory Booker"s conscience. "We can"t afford it under sequestration."

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

Just remember, Obama called the GOP "hostage takers" over a compromise on tax cuts.

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

Think of all of the New Jerseyans who will die in fires because the Obama campaign has Cory Booker in captivity. #FreeCoreyBooker

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

New oddly monotone Booker statement: "Barack Obama is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I"ve ever known."

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

Latest rumor in Booker Conscience Hostage Crisis is a rogue rescue op. One unidentified Booker friend going in, described as 5"11", 300 pds.

— jimgeraghty (@jimgeraghty) May 21, 2012

Newark Embassy wall has been breached by an unidentified 300 pound man armed with a fire extinguisher. #FreeCoreyBooker

MSNBC’s Martin Bashir apologizes for sick comments about Sarah Palin [video]

http://twitter.com/#!/HowardKurtz/status/402543164269289473

Last week, after Sarah Palin made an analogy between the national debt and enslavement, MSNBC’s Martin Bashir suggested Palin be subjected to a disgusting punishment for making the comparison.

Yesterday MSNBC actually again promoted the segment, but today, Bashir has apologized.

http://twitter.com/#!/jeff_poor/status/402542141324292099

Bashir’s apology for the disgusting comments following Palin’s slavery analogy came after it was discovered that he too once used a slavery analogy.

Here is video followed by a transcript:

Bashir: Last Friday on this broadcast, I made some comments which were deeply offensive, and directed at Governor Sarah Palin. I wanted to take this opportunity to say sorry to Mrs. Palin, and also to offer an unreserved apology to her friends and family, her supporters, our viewers, and anyone who may have heard what I said. My words were wholly unacceptable. They were neither accurate nor fair. They were unworthy of anyone who would claim to have an interest in politics, and they have brought shame upon my friends and colleagues at this network, none of whom were responsible for the things that I said. And at a place where we try every day to elevate political discourse, and to focus on issues that matter to all of us.

***

We’ll wait and see how Bashir’s apology goes over with much of MSNBC’s base audience.

Penguins, Flyers go to a hockey game and…what’s that joke again?

http://twitter.com/#!/arlasko/status/191646926918262786

You remember the old joke about the guy who went to see a fight and was surprised when a hockey game broke out? Yeah, welcome to Game Three of the playoff series between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Philadelphia Flyers.

There is no doubt that the teams do not like each other, but tensions ran, well, high seems like too light a word after the Flyers beat the Pens handily twice in Pittsburgh. What do you call the situation where you know a huge fight is going to break out at the slightest provocation, like a standoff between two gangs of gunmen in a restaurant that explodes into gunshots when a surprised waiter drops a tray of dishes? Well, someone dropped the dishes in the first period, which gave both teams all the reason they needed to drop the gloves.

And that was the first brawl. In all, officials handed out 72 minutes worth of penalties in the first period alone including game misconduct penalties (which in hockey-speak means the referee tossed three players out of the game). One of those players was tough-guy Arron Asham, who earned his ejection for this cheap-shot.

All of that, however, was mere prelude to the grand melee that erupted late in the third period after the Penguins’ James Neal leveled the Flyers’ Sean Couturier then went after star forward Claude Giroux. Yet more ejections and a truckload of penalty minutes later, this is how Twitter reacted.

someone"s going to get murdered during this game. #crazy #pens #flyers

Wow, a team with less class than the Flyers. that"s pretty impressive work by the Penguins.

— DrewMTips (@DrewMTips) April 15, 2012

Neal just spent his last shift just trying to hurt somebody. That"s not hockey.

— RMNB (@russianmachine) April 15, 2012

Yes, tensions are high, and a lot is on the line. But dear goodness, keep it classy. That"s to both sides. #NHL

James Neal goes after Couturier, then Giroux; Penguins completely outclassed; the refs completely lost control of this 2 shifts ago

— Michael Russo (@Russostrib) April 15, 2012

This, by the way, was a very small sample. Our Twitter timeline was spinning like the tumblers on a slot machine as officials tried desperately to remind both teams that they were in the NHL Playoffs, not Wrestlemania.

The NBC network, which televised this debacle, seemed pretty pleased that it and the NHL got a couple trending topic out of the day. So there’s that.

James Neal and Craig Adams are trending world wide #becauseitsthecup #StanleyCup Playoffs

— NHL on NBC (@NHLonNBCSports) April 15, 2012

Team defense has also taken a hit in the series, which has provided plenty of goals. Did I say “plenty”? I meant almost half the goals scored in all the playoff games to date.

The 7 other series have combined for 67 goals in 14 games. Pens & Flyers have combined for 32 through 3.

President sits down with YouTube stars to push Obamacare signups

http://twitter.com/#!/vj44/status/441707943449620480

The historic meeting was held months ago, but today the White House released a behind-the-scenes video of President Obama’s meeting with several YouTube personalities, encouraging them to use their social media reach to help sell Obamacare.

Keyboard Cat was nowhere to be found, but the president did sit down with Tyler Oakley and Iman Crosson, as well as Hannah Hart, who went on to score that sweet gig hosting Covered California’s six-hour, Richard Simmons-starring YouTube telethon. You remember; this thing:

Hmm… comments are blocked for that video for some reason.

For his part, Iman Crosson, also known as Alphacat, contributed the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” parody.

That video so far has racked up just over a million views. How many young people did it convince to enroll? As we’ve since learned, signups of the uninsured are not a data point the CMS is “really collecting in any sort of systematic way.”

Mike Huckabee’s stupid ‘libido’ comment taken out of context

http://twitter.com/#!/KailiJoy/status/426424338980429824

The last time Twitchy checked in with Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor was making noises about a 2016 presidential run, and conservative tweeters were placing their orders for jumbo cyanide martinis in response. Huckabee today is once again every liberal’s favorite Republican, as remarks he made at the Republican National Committee’s winter meeting on Thursday seem custom-made for the “war on women” meme. OK, what did he say this time?

http://twitter.com/#!/kasie/status/426423310193549312

Whoa, he said that? The Democrats have already put together their own video of the comments about women and their libidos.

http://twitter.com/#!/DWStweets/status/426474842351616000

As Human Events points out, though, neither the tweet nor the video shows Huckabee’s complete remark. Here is the entire passage from his speech.

I think it’s time for Republicans to no longer accept listening to Democrats talk about a ‘War on Women.’  Because the fact is, the Republicans don’t have a war on women.  They have a war for women – for them to be empowered, to be something other than victims of their gender.

Women I know are outraged that Democrats think that women are nothing more than helpless and hopeless creatures whose only goal in life is to have a government provide for their birth control medication. Women I know are smart, educated, intelligent, capable of doing anything anyone else can do.

Our party stands for the recognition of the equality of women and the capacity of women.  That’s not a war on them, it’s a war for them. And if the Democrats want to insult the women of America by making them believe that they are helpless without Uncle Sugar coming in and providing for them a prescription each month for birth control, because they cannot control their libido or their reproductive system without the help of government, then so be it. Let’s take that discussion all across America, because women are far more than Democrats have made them to be. And women across America have to stand up and say, “Enough of that nonsense.”

http://twitter.com/#!/redsteeze/status/426429930520326144

The takeaway, of course, was to be that Republicans are fighting a war for women. Unfortunately, by talking about libidos and reproductive systems, Huckabee teed up the perfect soundbite for the “war on women” crowd. Behold:

‘The victim": Who cares that Hillary defended an accused rapist in 1975?

http://twitter.com/#!/Slate/status/478995515364089856

The effort to clear the decks for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign continues. Now we learn that Clinton defended an accused rapist in 1975.

“Who cares?” asks Slate in a tweet today. Take the click bait and you’ll wind up at an article by Amanda Marcotte headlined, “It Shouldn’t Matter That Hillary Clinton Defended an Accused Rapist in 1975.” Does Marcotte make the case?

It turns out there’s a difference between “Should it matter?” and “Who cares?”

Tim McGraw Serenades A Young Fan With Down Syndrome At His Concert.

Tim McGraw made one sweet fan very happy earlier this month when he brought her onstage during a concert of his in Atlanta and serenaded her by singing ‘You Are So Beautiful’. But McGraw wasn’t done there, after he’d done serenading the young fan, he gave her a very special gift. He handed over the guitar he used while playing for her, signed on the front.

(Source: Kelly Halcomb) The special girl who was lucky enough to get this magical moment with the country star is Sarah Fodor. Sarah, who has Down Syndrome, is a huge fan of the singer and had this to say after the show; “I can’t believe that he would choose me! After he played that song, it really touched my heart.” When asked what she planned to do with the guitar she said, “I’m gonna keep it. I’m gonna keep it forever.” Share this great moment with your friends and family below.

The Green Bay Packers’ Davon House came amazingly close to blocking the San Francisco 49ers game-winning field goal, but there was a caveat we’ll get to after some pics and video:

What These Innocent Bystanders Saw On The Golden Gate Bridge Is Almost Magical.

Whenever I’m driving and I encounter a deer, I usually freak out just a little bit. Not only is it pretty rare to see deer in major metropolitan area, but the thought of hitting a deer is just too horrifying. So, it’s no wonder that these people were a little shocked by what they saw on the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge.

It is not uncommon to find deer in rural areas or even the suburbs, but in large cities, especially on major highways, it is rare to say the least. So I’m sure most commuters were astonished when they saw this…

I hope the deer made it home okay. Traffic jams can be so stressful, even for various wildlife.

Sisters Lennon and Maisy started singing songs in their bedroom and uploaded them to YouTube. Now, they have become wildly popular due to those YouTube videos, so much so that they are on the ABC series Nashville and have been invited to sing at the Grand Ole Opry a few times. In the video below they do an absolutely incredible job at covering Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros’ song called “That’s What’s Up”. I simply cannot get enough of these singing sisters, they were blessed with true talent!

“We are wheels down on Mars.” We live in an age in which that is a real thing somebody just said, consider yourselves lucky. #MarsCuriosity

— Gary Whitta (@garywhitta) August 6, 2012

The guy who got to utter the phrase, "we are wheels down on Mars" has the coolest job. Ever.

— Charlie Warzel (@cwarzel) August 6, 2012

I"m safely on the surface of Mars. GALE CRATER I AM IN YOU!!! #MSL

Statement from the @WhiteHouse on the landing of @MarsCuriosity #Curiosity | http://t.co/X3BoPtWi

— UPI.com (@UPI) August 6, 2012

The president’s statement:

“Tonight, on the planet Mars, the United States of America made history. The successful landing of Curiosity – the most sophisticated roving laboratory ever to land on another planet – marks an unprecedented feat of technology that will stand as a point of national pride far into the future. It proves that even the longest of odds are no match for our unique blend of ingenuity and determination.Tonight’s success, delivered by NASA, parallels our major steps forward towards a vision for a new partnership with American companies to send American astronauts into space on American spacecraft. That partnership will save taxpayer dollars while allowing NASA to do what it has always done best – push the very boundaries of human knowledge. And tonight’s success reminds us that our preeminence – not just in space, but here on Earth – depends on continuing to invest wisely in the innovation, technology, and basic research that has always made our economy the envy of the world.I congratulate and thank all the men and women of NASA who made this remarkable accomplishment a reality – and I eagerly await what Curiosity has yet to discover.”

"Tonight, on the planet Mars, the United States of America made history."—President Obama

— Barack Obama (@BarackObama) August 6, 2012

Amid the rejoicing and White House football-spiking, some pushback against the politicization:

You didn"t do it “@michellemalkin: RT @UPI: Statement from the @WhiteHouse on the landing of @MarsCuriosity #Curiosity http://t.co/xJKTX4OO

— Erick Brockway (@erickbrockway) August 6, 2012

@michellemalkin Engineering for the #MSL started in 2004. Even our side doesn"t mention this key fact.

— Keith Curtis (@keithccurtis) August 6, 2012

Statement from the @WhiteHouse on the landing. Credit"s Bush… oh wait….

— Edward (@US395) August 6, 2012

If for some really stupid reason you want to politicize this Mars landing, chew on this – the mission was funded under George W. Bush.

— Rodney Ramsey (@RodneyRamsey) August 6, 2012

And many reminders on Twitter of Obama’s NASA budget cuts:

Obama: congrats NASA! Sorry I cut your funding… Solyndra was a better investment I think.

— Rukus (@rukusduk) August 6, 2012

*Please* push for @NASA funding.. RT @BarackObama: "Tonight, on the planet Mars, the United States of America made history."—President Obama

— Michael Crawford (@MiklCraw4d) August 6, 2012

So NASA just put wheels on Mars but it"s not worth funding & Obama shut down manned flights. #thismakessense

— Janell Hendren (@JanellHendren) August 6, 2012

"Sorry NASA, I"m cutting your funding. You"ll have to use a Motorola phone camera on your little rover." – Obama

— Johnny Coltrane (@Chief_Wildcat) August 6, 2012

@whitehouse Mr. Obama can you please give NASA the funding they need to go further because the @MarsCuriosity landing was incredible

— Austin Wooldridge (@Wooly_Mammoth) August 6, 2012

I think John Holdren, President Obama"s official science advisor for NASA, just took a swipe at Obama for funding. #uhoh

— WRXchad (@WrxChad) August 6, 2012

(That’s the same John Holdren, by the way, more well known for his radical population control and global warming views than for his championing of space exploration. But we digress.)

London Olympics cost over $14B, #MarsCuriosity: $2.5B #fundNASA

But back to Earth:

Meanwhile, back on Earth, my post-landing news conference is starting @NASAJPL. Watch live http://t.co/0NsoaSC2 #MSL

— Curiosity Rover (@MarsCuriosity) August 6, 2012

@MarsCuriosity @nasajpl congrats on the landing! I wonder what the kickstarter rewards would be for a manned mission kickstart?

Exit question:
