Flashback: That ’70s activist Bob Beckel still angry at the ‘pigs’

Bob Beckel, co-host of “The Five,” managed to keep it classy for most of the panel’s segment today on the love affair between armed radicals of the ’60s and ’70s and their devotees in Hollywood and academia. Among those fans is Jada Pinkett Smith, executive producer of a film about Angela Davis and “the events that turned the philosophy professor into a political icon,” according to NPR.

Davis was fired from UCLA in 1970 in part because of her “repeated characterizations of the police as ‘pigs.’” We doubt it was concern for his own job that limited Beckel to just one reference to the “pigs,” for old times’ sake.

Video of the complete segment can be found at foxnews.com.

I was there in the 60s. Angela Davis was not only a dangerous radical, but an anarchist. #thefive

@fnthefive Having to watch Beckle defend murderers and call the police “Pigs” is repulsive. It requires great patience to deal with it.
