After one of the most well-known boat races in the UK was interrupted today by a random swimmer in the water, a new Twitter account was produced to make light of the situation. Instead of continuing the race, Cambridge and Oxford had to restart the race in order to make sure the competition remained fair.

Just got back on land. Apparently there was a boat race on. Mum texted, apparently I look amazing in HD.

Here’s the Twitter account that was produced after the swimmer was pulled from the water: @ThamesSwimmer. We’re going to go way out on a limb and speculate that this is probably not the account of the actual swimmer, but one that was created by someone else as a parody.

I thought I saw Samantha Brick on the other side of the Thames… I was only trying to buy her a coffee.
